Equipment power supply issue


The indicator light of the camera or other PoE powered device connected to the PoE switch is not on or the device keeps restarting.


Possible reason: The total power of PoE powered devices connected to the switch exceeds the PoE power supply of the switch; The power of the equipment connected to a single port of the switch exceeds the power supply of a single network port; There are issues with the network ports and cables of the switch or device.

Solution: Check and adjust the total power of the equipment to ensure that it does not exceed the actual power of the switch (it is recommended to calculate it at 70% of the maximum power to prevent power shortage caused by aging); Check whether the power supply of a single network port meets the equipment requirements, and replace the appropriate switch if necessary; Check the network cable and port, confirm that there is no damage and they are connected correctly, and use the original power adapter.


Insufficient power or unstable power supply.


Possible reasons: non-standard PoE switch usage, poor cable quality, long power supply distance, etc.
Solution: Use a standard PoE switch to ensure device security; Choose high-quality network cables, such as Category 5e and above network cables; Control the power supply distance within the recommended range (usually not exceeding 100 meters), and use a PoE extender if necessary.
